Crystal Palace 0-4 Spurs - Player Ratings

Daniel Madgin

Spurs were superb tonight which will inevitably reflect on the ratings as they stormed through Palace at Selhurst Park.

In case you are unaware of the ratings system, it is rated as follows:

0-2 - Dreadful performance, consists of mistakes and errors and costs us the game.

2.5-4 - Below par, may have made a mistake or two or showed nothing worthy in the game.

4.5-6 – Average, offered nothing special but completed a solid shift and minimised mistakes.

6.5-7.5 – Offered some effort and delivered something to the team in getting a result.

8-9.5 – A great performance and a large contributor to the result with a goal, assist or clean sheet.

10 – A perfect performance, no mistakes and carried the team to a win. Rarely given out. (E.g., Kane vs Man City)

Goalkeeper & Defenders:

Hugo Lloris - 8

After that shameful mistake against Aston Villa, the captain had to deliver tonight. In short, he did - made some crucial saves, including getting down to Ayew's first half shot, and denying him and Zaha again in the second. A good display, and he has avenged his errors.

Matt Doherty - 7.5

The wing-back scored his first goal since April in the league, and after his games before the return after the World Cup, it was not a surprise. A fine display from the Irishman.

Cristian Romero - 7

A few errors from the Argentinian today but largely kept Zaha quiet, which is not an easy feat. Contributed to the clean sheet.

Eric Dier - 6.5

Not his cleanest game, but was quiet and fairly mistake free. Made some decent forward passes.

Clement Lenglet - 7

Certainly proved why he is superior to Ben Davies. Another composed, solid display from the Frenchman.

Ivan Perisic - 8

The quality that he offers is sublime, and yet another assist for the opener today, which was a sublime cross. Good work-rate and another exemplary performance.

Midfielders:

Oliver Skipp - 6

Lacked composure today, and was sloppy on many occasions. It is disappointing and he has to improve, and was outshone by Sarr, who replaced him.

Pape Sarr - 7

A really promising cameo. Physically, superb and very difficult to steal the ball from him. He also made some decent defensive tackles and passes. He has potential, that is not in doubt.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 6.5

A player which grew into the game and improved as the team did. Was not glorious at times, and was messy in midfield but showed better composure and passes in the second half.

Attackers:

Bryan Gil - 7.5

His best game yet in a Spurs shirt. He provided a good assist for Kane's second and dribbled well today and was a lot less calamitous today.

Heung-Min Son - 7.5

Finally back on the scoresheet, and had a good second half. It was not his best efforts and he looked uninspired in the first half but he certainly works on confidence, and was so much better after he scored. Hopefully it continues

Harry Kane - 9 (Man of the Match)

A classic Harry Kane performance. He was unstoppable particularly in the second half, and had some sort of involvement in each goal. The way he took the second goal was unbelievable, he makes it look so easy.

Manager:

Antonio Conte - 8

Whatever the Italian said at half-time worked. He restored his trust in the right players and timed his subs well, such as the Skipp for Sarr move. He deserves some credit for his management today.

Spurs face Portsmouth next in the FA Cup, certainly a chance for playtime for those who have been largely absent this season.
