When Luton Town recorded a shock win over Norwich City on Boxing Day of last year, many canaries thought that is was inevitable that Dean Smith would be sacked as Norwich City’s head coach.

The disconnect at the club between the board, players and fans was a big as it’s been in years and it was inevitable that with the team from Norfolk sitting in 7th place, the former Aston Villa manager had to depart.
Former set piece coach Allan Russell took charge for the games against Reading and Watford
but he failed to stake his claim for the permanent job, which meant Sporting Director Stuart Webber would have to turn to an old colleague, David Wagner.
The former Huddersfield manager let many Norwich fans underwhelmed and it failed to change their opinions on Stuart Webber. However, the German made a bright start to life as Norwich boss with back-to-back away wins vs Preston and Coventry and the Norwich fanbase were starting to warm to David Wagner.
However, a heavy 3-0 defeat at home to Burnley showed David Wagner that he had
work to do. Following this defeat to the league leaders Norwich have won just 4 of their last 9 games. A record that isn’t good enough for a team chasing promotion.
David Wagner may have had a shaky start as Norwich head but has certainly improved the club since he arrived and he will need time and patience from the hierarchy and the fans to make the Yellows successful again.
